Nothing ever comes free. There is a price to pay for anything tangible. When Google touts its services as free and open, it only means that we will extract the price for the service from you in a different way. Nothing wrong with that. Its almost an open secret how Google works and plans for its future, i.e. Ads and any reasonable tech savvy person should be aware of this. Finally its the choice of the consumer on how he/she wants to pay for the service/product, either through enduring Ads and paying "$0" or with an Ad free experience and pay off the price up front with $$. Even Apple has ventured into this model with its iTunes Radio service, that is free with Ads or Ads free a subscription fees of $25 (that also includes iTunes Match). The point is to make an objective choice, after all both Toyotas and BMWs are good cars, just with different pros and cons attached to them.
