The iCar, a possibility?

The SanFrancisco chronicle [via MacRumors] claims in a recent report that Apple's acquisition chief, Adrian Perica met with Tesla's Elon Musk, sometime in 2013, and the meeting might have also been attended by Tim Cook as well. The rumors of an Apple iCar has always interested the technology industry and as the article mentions, was fueled more by an 'open letter' [CNN] by some German Analyst to Tim Cook last year. The article mentions a possibility of this being a meeting to facilitate a better iOS in car implementation, but with Tim Cook and Elon Musk, the CEOs of the respective companies attending along with the Chief Acquisition Officer (come on, this is too clear to be mis-interpreted), I definitely think there was more to this meeting than a better iOS in Car implementation!

Six months before Ahmad’s letter, Musk met with Perica and probably Cook at Apple headquarters, said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to protect business relationships. While a megadeal has yet to emerge (for all of its cash, Apple still plays hardball on valuation), such a high-level meeting between the two Silicon Valley giants involving their top dealmakers suggests Apple was very much interested in buying the electric car pioneer.
