Some Apple TV News

I have been using the latest Apple TV for a few months now and most recently I got rid of my Comcast subscription mainly due to the Apple TV. That says something, doesn't it! Anyway while I love the Apple TV and individual Apps on it like HBO Go, Netflix, etc. it is a pain to navigate it through various Apps and that is why I like the universal search on it so much. But its limited as of now and I end up having to type on it (thank god for the latest Apple remote App update) instead of talk to Siri, as Siri though has improved a lot recently, still cannot understand my Indian accent well. And all of us by now are well aware of Apple and the cable network providers long standing "friendship" and how things are falling apart for Apple trying to get a cable TV like subscription model on the Apple TV. So this latest Apple TV news (from Peter Kafka of ReCode) that Apple is trying something totally different like creating an advanced Apple TV guide is very good news. If this turns out to be something like a much more evolved Siri driven universal Apple TV App, then I am all on board!

Apple’s big TV plan now revolves around building an advanced TV guide that will tie content services like Netflix, HBO, and ESPN together... While a universal guide interface presents a pretty stark departure from what Apple has been saying publicly, it’s right in line with recent Apple TV updates, which emphasize things like Siri’s ability to circumvent the app system.
